Cao from Bosnia!!

Hey Everyone!

Sorry it has taken me so long to make a post. We only have internet when we go to internet cafes.

Bosnia is absolutely beautiful--and Sarajevo is an amazing city. It's very different form America...Mostly in that people go "on" coffee for multiple hours multiple times a day...hah! Good thing I don't like coffee?? But I did try some and I survived! I also tried their tea, and they have the most amazing fruit teas! I am going to bring some home so you all can try some!

We have met a lot of people here, and they are very welcoming! I am going out to coffee with one girl, Aida, tomorrow for the second time this week. It's been so awesome.

Our team is having a great time together, and we are all getting along great. God has definitely blessed us a million times over!! I have also been learning so much from my time I have been spending reading the Bible, from the staff, and from the other people on the trip.

We live in the very center of the city...so we're close to everything! We live on the 4th floor--84 steps up! AH! And we have a serious cockroach problem! We find numerous daily...unfortunately. But it's awesome. The fruit here is SO fresh...and there is an open market. Strawberries taste very different, and they have the best cucumbers I have ever tasted. It's hard to communicate, and I'm not very talented at Bosnian (but I can say a few common phrases!). The girls I have met like to joke with me and make me say words they know I can't say just so they can get a good chuckle in.

Sorry I don't have a lot of time to update this better, but this is what I was able to write for now! I hope everyone is doing well, and leave any questions or comments here!

Love!

Atlanta

Hey Everyone,

We all arrived safely in Atlanta, and have had a great two days together. I am so glad that you are going to be reading and keeping up with me this summer. Our team has instantly clicked, and all 10 of us are excited to be spending the next 6 weeks together :)

Tomorrow we leave around 6pm and arrive in Bosnia at 2pm on Thursday. We then have to stay awake the whole afternoon to help with jet lag? hah--my team doesn't know very much about how easily I fall asleep, so this could be quite the challenge!

I am so looking forward to meeting the rest of the people over there, and getting to meet new people.

I'll update again ASAP, and I hope that you are all having a great summer thus far!

With Love,
jv
